How to Make Sheer Khurma
Sheer Khurma is a traditional and popular Eid special dessert made with milk, vermicelli (seviyan), sugar, and dry fruits. It is rich, creamy, and full of flavor, making it a favorite festive sweet across many households.

Ingredients
- 1 liter full-fat milk
- 1/2 cup vermicelli (seviyan)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 8–10 almonds (sliced)
- 8–10 cashews (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- 2–3 dates (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A few saffron strands
Method
1. Roast Dry Fruits
Heat ghee in a pan and lightly roast almonds, cashews, raisins, and dates until golden. Set aside.
2. Roast Vermicelli
In the same ghee, lightly roast the vermicelli until golden brown.
3. Boil Milk
In a separate pot, bring milk to a boil and add saffron strands.
4. Cook Vermicelli
Add roasted vermicelli into the boiling milk and cook for 5–7 minutes.
5. Add Sweetness
Add sugar and cardamom powder, and mix well.
6. Add Dry Fruits
Stir in the roasted dry fruits and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
7. Serve
Serve sheer khurma warm or chilled as per preference.
