Moong Dal Chilla Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1–2 green chilies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as needed)
  • Finely chopped onion (optional)
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Oil for cooking

Method

1. Soak Dal

Wash moong dal and soak it in water for 3–4 hours or overnight.

2. Grind Batter

Drain water and blend dal with green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, and little water to make a smooth batter.

3. Add Vegetables

Mix salt, chopped onions, and coriander leaves into the batter.

4. Heat Pan

Heat a non-stick tawa and lightly grease it with oil.

5. Cook Chilla

Pour a ladle of batter and spread it in a circular shape. Cook on medium flame.

6. Flip & Cook

Flip and cook both sides until golden and crispy.

7. Serve

Serve hot moong dal chilla with chutney or curd.
